Who is my neighbor?

Our neighbor is not just the person living next door.  Jesus uses words that indicate that he is referring to a larger, regional population of people.  And of those people, our neighbor is the one who is near… the one that we encounter as we move around in our daily lives.

The people that need us are our neighbors—people that have been stripped of dignity by poverty and beaten down by life and left to fend for themselves.

They are our neighbors and we are theirs.
